About the MEXT (Japanese Government) Scholarship for Government-Sponsored International Students
- For Government-Sponsored International Students with Embassy Recommendation
Eligibility: Students at the Graduate level residing outside of Japan. It is necessary to apply to an overseas diplomatic mission (Embassy or Consulate of Japan) and pass the first examination (including an interview, written examination, etc.). Please contact your nearest Japanese Embassy regarding application procedures and the first examination.※For those individuals who have passed the first examination:

Numata Scholarship
Established in 1979 (Showa 54) with a donation provided by Ehan Numata, the first President of the Society for the Promotion of Buddhism. This scholarship aims to assist and support the future achievements of researchers and exemplary students who, in the Buddhist spirit which forms our Founding Philosophy, aim to spread the teachings of Buddhism overseas and domestically.
